| Chicago Police Need Human Resources Training?  | | | |  I am upset because I heard this morning from Fox News that there might be another video tape of a beating by a police officer, and this time, it is the brother of the Chicago police officer who beat the female bartender. Unbelievable! I don't understand why this would happen in the first place, because police officers are supposed to represent the standard. I wonder how many more surprises are hidden within the Chicago police. What do yout think about this?

| |  The people in our society are not getting much better and the pool of potential police officers is getting harder to fill. More of the iffy candidates are getting in. Having said that... their job is an extremely hard one. Often hated by the society that they are meant to serve and protect. A no win situation in many cases.
We should not get comfortable with this kind of situation, like we do so many other things, and make examples of these policemen so that being a policeman means more in the future. We too need to appreciate them for the authority that they weild.

I guess it depends on how you look at it, but being a parent is somewhat similar to being a police officer. However, I doubt a parent would abuse their responsibility in such a way. | |  When the father of the man in the mayor's seat now was mayor, even tho Chicago was probably one of the most corrupt cities in the U.S., you could pretty much trust the cops to help people. I think they were probably doing a protection racket even back then, but they weren't getting caught because they didn't HAVE videos back then. Now, maybe they'll put this nonsense out of business!!!
