Shopping before or after the baby is born

Get as much as you possibly can before the baby comes because you really are not going to have the time or energy to run out when you come home!
You can easily get the crib, swing, bath items, theme things like the mobile and crib sheet and bumper sets, neutral baby items and such before the baby comes and then get the specifics after the baby is here.
You need the crib or bassinette right away so that is a have to get before.
We also have found it is better to have the baby shower shortly after baby comes home so we get what we need and not a lot of generic things. Works way better that way.

We had everything ready and waiting for when we came home from the hospital. The nursery was all set up and the clothes washed, folded and in the dresser. We didn't know whether we were having a boy or a girl so there was a lot of green and yellow and just a smattering of pink and blue.

When I was pregnant we wanted to find out the sex of the baby. We found out it was a boy and we started buying stuff right away. I felt like it was a boy before they even told us. But we were lucky because our families bought the crib, changing table, and dresser for us so we didn't have to spend out all that money. I just think it's so much easier if you start buying for the baby before it's born.

In my family, we are not supposed to buy anything foe the child before birth. This rule has been going for a long time now and so when i became a mother, i too had to wait for the child. I remember, my hubby got clothes for him when i was still in the hospital. Then when we came home, My in laws got the cot and other stuffs. Yes , I do admit, that you may have to wait for few more days to go out and shop for your little one. I could go out to the market after 2 months.

When I was prego with my son, I couldn't wait to have my house filled with baby stuff. I wanted everything to be ready for when we came home from the hospital. His room was set up with his crib, changing table, toy box, many toys, and a fish tank for a night light. I was really glad that it was all ready, because when we came home from the hospital I was tired. The next few months while I was breat feeding I was up all the time, didn't get much sleep, or have a lot of time to do much with the house. If I had waited to get his things till he was born I would have been over whelmed. Having a new born takes a lot out of you, and the more you are prepared the easier it is going to be. There are tons of clothing and bedding in the stores that are unisex if you wait to find out what you are having. I would get as much of the shopping done as you can and everything set up before the baby arrives. It was way easier on me doing it that way, and a lot less stressfull.

We made sure we had bulk of the stuff before baby was born. We only bought the necessary clothing to begin with and these were mostly yellow, white or green items. Once my son was born then I bought more clothing for him. I had a lot of hand me downs so I wasn't too worry about buying baby stuff.

I would recommend getting everything before the baby comes, if you just go with neutral colours you'll be fine - creams, whites, yellows etc are perfect.
We knew we were having a girl - we chose to find out so we could buy accordingly.
You don't wanna wait coz where will the baby sleep when you get home if you haven't got him or her a bed? Plus, you'll be too tired to do much of anything when you get home from the hospital!
Good luck with everything & definitely, buy before the baby arrives, it'll make your life so much easier & you'll be glad you don't have to rush around when you get home coz all you'll wanna do is relax!
