| | I'm sorry, I don't. Years back I had an excellent book and was teaching my older children and myself some signing not because we knew anyone who used it but because I felt it was something that was interesting and may come in handy some day. I'm afraid my ex-husband took the book when he moved out and I can't for the life of me remember the name of it. If I can remember the next time I talk to my daughter I'll ask if she can check her dad's and find out the name of the book if he still has it. It was very well illatrated with both drawings and actually photos. | | | | | | |

| | Thank you for your help. I have an autistic son who is non verbal and I want an ASL book on hand so I can find signs without always having to resort to looking on the ASL dictionary online. I do know there is more to this language, and I also know there are different ways it is taught. I certainly don't need to confuse my son, I just want to know learn the signs for now. Maybe one day my family and I will take a course, I just don't see that as a possibility right now. Thanks again! | | | |

| | There are books not sure of the names of them that will help you with basic signs for the autistic. Go into your local bookstore and they will be able to help you out with that. Again a ASL dictionary will be a big help. GL to you. | | | |

| | I recommend American Sign Language the Easy Way, second edition. It does a great job of explaining the grammar of ASL and Deaf culture, as well as having a good list of vocabulary words in ASL. And, I find it easy to understand. It's the best that I can recommend at a reasonable price. (I paid $16.95 plus taxes, if my memory serves me correctly.) | | | | | | |

| | I think the best way to learn sign language is to take classes. Books, DVDs, CDs do help yeah, but you might learn the things wrong and you won't know it because you don't have someone in front of you who says "no, it has to be this way.." (if you know what I mean) Bookds, DVDs,.. can help if you forgot things to bring them up again - to give you this "ohhh yeah sure, that was it.."-feeling.. But ey.. everyone has to find its own way how to learn it ;) | | | | | | |
