Do you kennel your dog when you vacation

If we can't take our dog with us, we don't go. i have kenneled our buzzy when it was absolutely necessary, but to see him put in that cage just breaks my heart...even though i know that they take good care of him, and he gets out for 3 breaks a day.

I have two dogs. One is a pug and the other is a chihuahua. We try to find places we can take them. Last year we took them to the outer banks of North Carolina with us and rented a house which was dog friendly. In fact the whole island was dog friendly. We even took them to a dog party. If I do have to board them, I try to find a place where they are not in cages all day. It's a challenge, but I'd rather have piece of mind while I'm away than worry that they'll be unhappy the whole time we're gone.
