Yes, there is. I have used such a software for a while to improve my typing skills and it worked just fine. It was called "The Typing Tutor" and I can give it to you if you want. Just let me know and I will send it to you.

I do not know a software that will give you that purpose, but I seen a hardware that scans the document and the contents of the document will be typed on the monitor. It is like scanning, but the document's contents are written back to the word editor. You may search for it. I forgot its name. I was not so much interested with it so I did not give much attention into it.

I used Typing Tutor Platinum and practised everyday. Just insert the CD and install the program and you're on your way to typing fast!

You can also learn to type fast if you use the computer regularly. It improves with practice and frequency.

Yeah, basically any software intended for the purpose, like typing tutor, will allow you to do this, altho you'll have to make an effort, if it teaches gradually i believe it is possible!
Personally it came naturally to me after using many chatroom & forums all the time, i recommend to do this aswell as it can be good practice and in turn fun.
