There ought to be a licence for having children.

As interesting as that sounds, I enjoy my freedom to choose when and how many kids I want to have. If we start limiting freedoms to do things like childbirth, it will spiral out of control fast. Has anyone ever seen Demolition Man with Sly Stallone, Wesley Snipes, and Sandra Bullock? In the movie, it was illegal to touch a nother person, and you had to be approved to had children. I remember watching that and I couldnt believe what I was hearing...

I was just discussing this matter with a friend of mine. It sounds terrible, but I think we should be on mandatory birth control until you can pass a test about childcare. Seriously. Some woman in the news recently used her baby as a weapon -- she slung him by the feet like a baseball bat -- to protect herself during a domestic argument that turned violent. Why on earth someone would do that is beyond me. My mother lives in Chicago and was also recently telling me about a horrible case in the news there of child abuse. I know it sounds like some bizzaro 1984 idea to force people to pass some kind of test to have a kid, but honestly... It is as if some people don't even realize what if is to have a baby! Or that having a child means you have embarked upon the very difficult task of raising a RESPONSIBLE ADULT. Some people, it appears, don't even realize that their child will one day be 18, or 21, or 41 with their own kids!

I so agree on this. I hate seeing it too but it happens all over. Makes ya want to take that boat and sink it again huh?? LOL

I agree. 100%. There are so many unfit parents, compared to fit parents - some of whom can't even have children.
