| |  I'm fairly certain it falls somewhere between action and concept, and farthest of all from an emotion. I used to think fishing was really cool, until i -actually- went trout fishing at lake Arrowhead (yes, like the water company). It wasn't nearly as exciting as i thought it would be, but then again most of my entertainment revolves around explosions on computer monitors and television screens.

| | In the latter 'chapters' of Trout Fishing... the narrator has started a small family, which he takes fishing with him on one or more occasion. As his focus turns toward his wife and new baby, Trout Fishing in America becomes referred to as more of an old friend than whatever it was before, with the inclusion of the name Trout Fishing in America Shorty, who appears to be a wheel-chair bound individual, or perhaps an abstraction of his love for the pastime.
