Laundry Day

Monday has traditionally been Laundry Day, with Tuesday following as Ironing Day. With automatic washers and dryers and permanent-press, wrinkle-free fabrics, this doesn't hold true as much anymore. Do you set aside a particular day to do your laundry, or are you like me and just do it when you can't get away with it any longer (as in, I need underwear!)?

I usually do the laundry on Saturday, as in the first day off of the week. But of course if the basket is really full I do it in one of the weekdays too.
As of ironing... I have yet to discover something that will rid me of that because I strongly dislike ironing. Given that I iron everything exactly when I need it. I know I should iron everything before putting it into the closet but I really cannot stand ironing :(

I have found that even if you iron your clothes before you put them in the closet, when it comes time to take them out again to wear, they usually need to be re-ironed anyway! So we're just saving energy by doing it only when needed.

I have no set day when laundry is done. There is only 3 of us in our house, so as soon as I have a full wash of colours or whites, i put a wash on. Trying to get them dried can be even harder because in ireland it rains alot, so i have to hang the on the clothes airer and hope the heat of the house will dry them soon before the next lot is washed.

I don't have a dryer either, so hang my laundry up in the back room during the winter or when it's raining. Otherwise, I have a line outside, but it's not very long so still end up hanging stuff up indoors.

I usually do laundry every two weeks, since I have to go to the laundromat it is a real chore to get it done. I just did the laundry tonight and since I was three weeks since having done it last I was pretty close to no underwear...lol...When I had my own washer I used to do it as needed, when the washer was full turn it on. When I was little girl, 13 or 14 ish little, my father used to pay me 50 cents a shirt to iron his dress shirts. He has about 200 of them and they used to breed like dirty socks. So you can understand why I don't even own an iron now...lol.

I was *gonna* do mine today, but conveniently forgot. Maybe tomorrow... who knows? I *did* buy detergent and softener today.
