Did Cinderalla really have a glass shoe?

I believe Cinderella lost a glass slipper. I'm not sure I understand what you are asking about the real story? Maybe I'm missing something here.

Of course, there is no "real" story, since all the versions are fiction, but, I think in the "original" story it was not a glass slipper, that was added by Disney. Also, in the original story one of the step-sisters cut off her toes to try and fit in the shoe. The old stories were a lot more gory and dark before the movies got ahold of them.

Cinderella herself and everything therein, in this story, are all non existent. For the joy and fun of it, the story must be told as it is, as pure fiction. No, Cinderella did not have GLASS slippers in the original tale. She most likely had FUR slippers... actually, VAIR slippers. Vair is one of the furs of heraldry, composed of bell-shaped pieces, arranged alternately in argent (silver) and azure (blue). Now, VAIR sounds like VERRE, the French word for glass... so you can see where the mistranslation comes in.
