The frightening fact is that 31% of those with high blood pressure were unaware that they even had it. Additionally, less than a quarter of those with hypertension were taking medication to help lower their pressure. Make sure that you have a full physical at least once a year, even if you are feeling healthy, as high blood pressure and many other illnesses often do not present any symptoms. Also, don't forget that maintaining a healthy lifestyle, including regular exercise and a healthy diet, can lower your blood pressure.
