You're right...we must take care to keep our minds focused on the Word. We can be easily distracted if we do not have a purposed mind. I often fall victim to distraction, that's why I need to keep post it notes. ;)

Thank you for responding. I have to say, you quoted some of my favorites, too. My bible is so marked up it looks like a rainbow. I sometimes wonder if I will end up with every verse highlighted before I'm finished. Each time I read God's word I see something new. Isaiah 53:5 has seen me through so very many hard times. It is an old friend. Isaiah and Hebrews are 2 of my favorite books of the Bible.
I like your contrast between fear and faith, it spoke to a situation I'm struggling with. That must be why I was led back to check on this old discussion...I needed to be reminded of that fact.

That old devil is a liar, Chrissy. Rebuke him and continue to live a life of joyous victory in Christ. You are a brand new person now. Any past sin is under the Blood of our Presious Lord. Hi chrissysweet,the day you decided to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal saviour is the day that Jesus forgave you and gave you a new beginning.You became a new creature in Him and he gave you a new start.The old you passed away and the new you took over(all your sins are buried deeper than the ocean floor).ONE THING THAT I CAN STRESS TO YOU IS THAT GOD WILL NEVER USE YOUR PAST TO DETERMINE YOUR FUTURE.He knows the thoughts that he has towards you,thoughts of peace and not thoughts to harm you,thoughts to give you an expected end.Iam currently going through a situation like you have mentioned in your story,iam praying to God for a christian man and believe that he will answer,his time is the best and thats why in times like this, we should stay focused and centred on God and patiently wait for him.The Devil will always be A LIAR,THIEF AND DESTROYER.He will lie to you that you do not deserve the best,but as i have mentioned God's promises and thoughts for our future are nothing but wonderful.He will try to destroy the faith that you have in God to grant your answers in prayer,But the Bible promises us in the new testament that God shall supply all our needs according to his riches in Glory through Christ Jesus.(including a husband dear).Lastly he will try to still your time,the time that you need to spend with him..thanking him for a husband even though he has not yet come(but because we are saved by grace through faith,keep believing and trusting that God has already given you a husband,who is not JUST a christain but a man who searches and yearns for the heart of God).
Nobody is perfect dear,but our past has been cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ,any man who chooses not to accept you does not deserve you.
