Lyndon B. Johnson and J.Edgar Hoover ordered the assasination of JFK?  email this discussion to a friend?

myLot reputation of 97/100. ColonelConclusive (184) 5 years ago

This is the deathbed confession that former CIA operative E.Howard Hunt has made. The entire story and confession can be found in the new Rolling Stones magazine. In addition to the order of assasination, Mr. Hunt claims Lyndon B. Johnson was the sole creator of the Lone Gunman Theory and was responsible for accusing Lee Harvey Oswald for the former president's death. Mr. Hunt also claims Lucien Sarti (a CIA operative) was the gunman responsible for the fatal headshot to John F. Kennedy, and this shot did indeed come from the grassy knoll.

Do you believe this confession is in fact true, or just a publicity stunt? Obviously a formal investigation will be conducted regarding this new information and accusation; however, even if the truth is learned, do you expect the government to come out and tell the truth to the American people? Do you think the American people can handle the truth? If this accusation is in fact true, what do you think will be the repercussions within this country, and/or our government?

I'm not sure if 'this' is true, but I don't believe that Lee Harvey Oswald killed JFK. I have been to Dallas. I have been to the museum there. I have read many things about the assassination. I have seen the Zapruder tape. I don't think there is any doubt in my mind that the shot did come from the grassy knoll. I hope that maybe, just maybe this will finally reveal what the real truth is. I believe that the American public will be fine. We have dealt with worse. I'm not sure of the repercussions. That's anyone's guess.

I'm actually shocked that you're the only person that responded to this, given this new information just came to light. I guess most people on here could care less about the nation's history. But I certainly agree with you, there's no way a logical conclusion (if you know anything about the incident and the logistics of the shot(s) fired, seen the Zapruder tape, etc.) could point to Lee Harvey alone.

I've never been to that site where the assasination took place. Can you walk and roam wherever, or is it roped off or something and set up as a tourist attraction or what's the deal with it? I'd certainly like to go there at some point in my life.

I think Americans that remember or studied that day already have their opinions about what actually happened. I, for one, do not believe that Oswald killed JFK. I have always thought it was a government plot, carried out all too well. Most of the loose ends were tied up very well. If this man's confession is the truth, it just proves to me that at least one of the person's involved in the cover up had a conscience in death, if not in life.
If this confession is just a publicity stunt, who gains from it? Rolling Stone? Maybe they will sell more magazines.
And, does the government really ever tell us the truth about things such as this? I don't think so.
I don't think there will be many repurcussions from this confession. Most of the actors in this play are history themselves. What could possibly be done to change what all has happened due to the assassination of JFK? Just another part of bad history of this United States of America.

I'm still a youngen (in my mind), and most of my fascination regarding these happenings came very much after the fact, it also came via research in my free time. And I'm not kidding myself, I'm no historian and obviously haven't researched the findings and conspiracies nearly as in depth as writerbob (below). So given this information, and if this new confession yields an investigation that proves this confession true, is there really nobody left or still alive that could be held accountable and punished for the murder of our former president? I have to agree with you, that our government would probably do very little in terms of punishing anybody for such a travesty, if this new info turns out to be true, but, wow...what a shame, and shame on the government, and I suppose the people for allowing the government to get away with matters of such proportion, or maybe I'm just being naive believing this government is run "for the people, by the people."

I've studied the Kennedy assassination for almost 49 years, beginning with the mind-control of Manchester's 'Death of a President'. It is old news to many of us in the conspiracy world that Hunt and Frank Sturgis, who were caught at the Watergate break-in in 1972, were the CIA controllers in Dallas that day, dressed as hoboes. They were even photographed - Google it and you'll find it.

I don't need any more evidence. Why else have all of the records been locked up for 75 years (that leaves us with 31 more, and there'll be few left alive when the truth, if any still exists, comes out in that evidence.

Why do you think our arrogant Chimp-in-Chief smirked to his fellow Bonesman Woodward during the interview when he was asked about how history would judge his misadventure in Iraq as follows:

"History? We don't know about history. We'll all be dead anyway".

Here's betting that the evidence of the lies that the Iraq war was built upon will conveniently be sealed for, say, 75 years also.

Catch onto their game a bit by now?

Just had to amend the above slightly - should read "39 years". I'm good, but I couldn't read in my first year of life! :-)

Wow, I commend you for doing as much research as it appears you've done to research this history of such an event! So, after doing this research and establishing your own beliefs, but having no "official" testimonials or evidence to support your hunches and conspiracy theories, does this new infomation at least set your mind at ease, or give you any sense of satisfaction of say, the "I told you so" or "I knew it" way of thinking?

And thanks for the google lead regarding Hunt and Sturgis, I'll check it out just to satisfy my curiosities.

Thanks for the nod. Here's the deal: 15 families have historically run this planet, like a giant Mafia crime cartel. After all of the hullabaloo and technological advances of the last 100 years, here's what's changed: absolutely nothing. Be they Rothschilds, Rockerfellers or Windsors, the names vary but the function is invariable - we are the lambs, they lead us to slaughter.

Comforting Bob, real comforting...probably true though. Whom am I kidding? You're spot on! I'll continue to at least pretend to be ignorant though, for it makes things a little easier to stomach.

I don't blame you, there's a reason for the saying "ignorance is bliss"
