Has your dog ever protected you or scared off a would-be burglar?

There are a lot of breeds that are known for their protective instinct (think dobermans, pit bulls, mastiffs,). Has your dog ever actually protected you? Has he or she ever intimidated an unsavory character? Scared off a would-be burglar?

well my daughter was out on the porch on day playing and a german shep that always came over here came up and bit her he had ahold of her arm and before i even got there one of the strays that we ended up with furby he was a cute littel thing i think calwhahola however you spell it and husky. anyways he had jumped up and had ahold of the german shep and was tearing him apart and got him off of my daughter. he protected her and anytime she stepped out the door he was on her heels.
when i was young i had a doberman and my mom went to hit me and the dog pinned her up against the wall. i was happy cause when she hit it wasnt a light hit. usally she locked the dog up before but she had forgot.
then i had a pom that one day i was home alone and i was about 6 i think i didnt lock the door and went to take a shower i heard the window break and when i came running out she had a guy in the yard by his pants leg i called the cops before he got away that dog was not giving up lol.
i have had lots of dogs protect me and my kids. they can be mutts , small , big etc they will protect if there is love
