Do you know? Orkut was started by a software engineer named Orkut Buyoucoctain.
The site orkut was started accidently by him. Here is the story. This guy was in his search for a girl whom he loved once. And on his search he made a huge network of online friends. And this further lead to the website orkut. But the story got a sad part, he didn't find that girl. Infact he can't, cause she was killed in a train accident.

Thanks for the information...This a very help ful information.......Orkut...i think it became the last word for friendship nowadays...orkut orkut orkut...it is coming to more popular...I am using orkut as my social site...No other site is this much cool and funny..I heard that orkut is banning in many countries...

Yes I heard something similar about orkut. Positives and Negatives are there in this story. Positives are that he has come up with such a great community site, which has united so many people here. I know few couples who met on orkut and later got married. Negatives that he could not meet her Girl Friend for who he had made this community, network. Wish He had met her on this network of friends. It would have been dream come true for him. But you dont always get what you want.
