And if we do, how loudly will you be screaming for those same troops to protect us when the Iraqis bring the war to our country? When it is your home that is being bombed, your family that is being blown to bits. I looked up your age and wonder if you are really against the war or if you are just afraid that you will soon be called on to defend your country.

| RolandBrooks (10) | 1 year ago | im just wondering how did we get into such a bad situation. I enrolled myself into the military already and iv'e been enrolled sicne last year. Also im not required to go ito the Military because im the only son in my family.lol. Im not afriad but the thought that there is more to it than meets the eye concerns me dramatically and that we should have a better person who can handle things like this in a better way. Shoot let me be the president for awhile, its all about tactics.

coolseeds (2183) | 1 year ago | Dragonstar you need to realize that Timothy McVeigh was a member of the US army who bombed Oklahoma. So this is the Iraqis who are bombing our country? I don't know of NOT A SINGLE ONE Iraqi who has bombed US soil. Tell me of these people bombing the US. I can defend my own land and don't need Bush's army. If you doubt me... try to take it from me dragonstar. Timothy James McVeigh (April 23, 1968 – June 11, 2001) was an American convicted of eleven federal offenses and ultimately executed as a result of his role in the April 19, 1995, Oklahoma City bombing. He is commonly referred to as the Oklahoma City bomber. The bombing, which claimed 168 lives, was the deadliest act of terrorism in U.S. history until the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center in New York, and remains the deadliest incident of domestic terrorism in U.S. history.

| ManInThePub (17) | 1 year ago | Pff! What a load of old cobblers. Iraq was no threat to the US & UK before the war. There were no WMD and no Al Qaeda cells. This "evil dictator" Saddam was backed by the US, EU and Russia for long enough. In fact, they assisted in some of his most famous atrocities by supplying bio-chemical weapons and military intelligence. Very convenient that Saddam got hanged before he got the chance to subpoena Donald Rumsfeld. The ongoing military presence in Iraq has done nothing to stop the many successful and unsuccessful terrorist attacks in Europe that were inspired by the invasion. Millions of dead civilians because the Bush cronies wanted to steal the 2nd largest deposit of oil in the world, is no reason to be there at all, let alone talk about staying. Don't you wonder how many of the insurgents are simply striking back at the people who killed their family, friends or simply ruined their lives? What would you do if your kid got its legs blown off by a mortar or your wife was blown into dust by Coalition munitions? Listen to what the Iraqis want and plan a phased withdrawal and a REAL handover. After all, aren't we supposed to have brought them freedom and democracy? Actually, the vast majority of Iraqis would be happy with having electricity, sewerage and not being prisoners in their own homes... How would you feel if a superpower bombed the crap out of your country, reduced daily life to hell and showed no signs of leaving?

I think that the real reason that we are at war in Iraq right now is because Bush wanted to finish what his daddy started when he was president and because he knew he needed to take immediate action after 9/11 (even though he went after the wrong people).

I think he is an idiot and it is a direct reflection of the intellect of the citizens of the USA. If the war in Iraq is to end terrorism then it is a joke. Please read my reply to the 1st comment.

| RolandBrooks (10) | 1 year ago | Ok, that may be true but here is my theroey so tell me what you think. My therey is that Mr.Bush is telling a lie wich is what polititions do, i know because i want to be a good politition one day. But president bush is telling lies for a bad reason. A great president is sussposed to protect his country and his people even if you have to tell a lie. But Bush is telling a lie so that he can conqure land in other places. That is the real reason why we are still over there. It is all clear, it is as simple as adding 1+1. I know and can see through what he is doing because i would like to be president one day. it might sound crazy to you people but i have my resorces and my reasons. one a lot of my family members were in the armed service and i like to think that if something bad happend to one of them would be the same as something hapenning to one of your family members. Two I grew up learning about what to do in many situations epecially if it has something to to with international warfare. Three we need a new kind of president, someone who is diverse, inovative, and inventive. Someone who will stand and fight a battle for the best intrest of one united country!
