Yeah. Exactly the question that has been plaguing my mind lately. Especially with Jonathan dead, and Lex now an enemy, Clark just seemed to be surrounded by no one but girls. His mom, chloe, lana, lois... It just felt like the smallville universe has gotten way too small with too few people. I hope that pete comes back, or that the network put another guy on his role. Why didn't they do that in the first place? The character of Pete was important on Clark's story, as the first non-family person who found out about him.

well, in the show, he just couldn't handle knowing about clark anymore because it was putting him in danger..and his mom moved...

officially, possibly his contract ran out or the writters thought he wasn't that much of a key character...who knows the actually reason...

pretty much what the poster before me said. i agree that pete is an integral part of Clark's story since he's in the comics and all, but I guess Smallville is not really following the comics closely since they already introduced Lois and that's not supposed to happen yet...

Pete Ross has too. Read the comic books. Pete Ross becomes the vice president during the Lex Luther administration. He also becomes president after Lex Luther is forced to step down. I hope this helps. Many of the answers can be found in your comic books.
