Lightning - This is my cat Lightning who was born on Memorial Day 10yrs. ago. His mom was a stray that gave birth to him outside in the rain but died trying to deliver his siblings. The kittens were just too big for her lil body. I had him from the time of birth. Bottle-fed him and took him everywhere with me. He turned out to be the best cat I've ever had. A true momma's boy who doesn't know he's a cat. He tends to dislike other ppl and tolerates my husband and daughter and he HATES vets. He used to have alot of med. problems growing up but seems to have 'outgrown' them the last few years. Long as I keep him on filtered/bottled water and feed him his special diet, he doesn't get sick which is good cause when he has to stay overnite at the vet, I have to take him back to put in the cage and go back to get him myself. Otherwise, they keep him sedated while he's there cause they can't even open his cage w/o him attacking tooth and nail. Sadly, Lightning tested positive 2yrs. ago for heartworm so it's just a matter of time b4 he tells me it's his time to leave as well. Heartworm can't be treated in cats like they can in dogs. He's on preventive now so he doesn't get any more heartworms. All my animals are on it and will be cause it's killing me to know I could of prevented him from getting it had I known cats could get it at the time and there was preventive out there. I always have such close bonds with all my animals that I can literally read their minds. Helps when I take in an abused animal cause they quickly learn that mom is a very caring person who truly loves them and will protect them from future harm.
