The Saffron Flower - This cute little SAFFRON Flower, is unique in more than one way. It is a Flower, the fragrance of which, can be smelled from quite a distance. Next the flower does not accompany any leaves, or big stem of the tree. This Saffron Flower is very small, hardly a couple of inches in width, and also at a coule of inches from the ground. There are only 2 hair like structure, a male and a female and only the female is brought into use, to flavor the recipes. It is expensive, as only a gram or two of the original Saffron is sold for almost a dollar. In the days gone by, the original Kashmiri Purohits, had these Saffron Fields, under their control. But now that the Kashmiri Purohits were forced to leave tei lands and Saffron fields, for fear of being massacred, are now government control. The Kashmir is now open for the public to visit/tour and enjoy the Nature's abundance in fruits, flowers, the Huge Himalayan Range, full with snow, and of course the humble locals with the army surveillance.
