This is another self portrait of a man who was diagnosed with schizophrenia (a devastating mental illness that causes confused thoughts).
Mental illness is defined as a medical condition that pertains to the mind that inhibits a person from operating normally in everyday life. It also effects an individual's ability to communicate and involvement in society.
Schizophrenia is the most devastating of the mental illnesses that only attacks 1% of the population. It is defined as being a disorder that causes jumbled thoughts, grandiose thoughts, confused thoughts, communication problems etc. It is generally treated but there is no medical cure. It is hoped for most that they can manage their symptoms on medication but never eliminate them.
This photo is testament to the power of the mind to overcome great odds. I am the one in this picture. This is my self portrait that I drew as one diagnosed with this illness though I claim to be healed in Jesus Mighty Name! | |
