a male prarie chicken - the tall prairie grasses are ideal brooding areas for the prairie chicken, who finds shelter from predators within. They also feed on the various grain/seeds from the prairie grasses and wildflowers. such a beautiful animal! are they next to become extinct? are the environmentalists concerned? I think the true conservationists are concerned - and making a concertive effort to save such creatures from extinction. not all naturalists are solely tree huggers.
