Traditional Aboriginal Adoption - In this photo is of my family. My Mom is from the Tshimpsian Nation, her clan is of the Raven. My Dad was from the Haida Nation, his clan is of the Raven. Even though they are of different Nations, you cannot marry Raven with Raven, or Eagle with Eagle, so forth. The Haida and Tshimpsean Nations are matericial, so it was up to my Mom to be adopted into the Eagle clan. All of her children also had to be adopted. Thus today all my brothers and sisters are all Eagle.
