davao's generoso bridge (what's taking you so long - 'slooooowwwww iiiiisssss whaaaaatttt yoooooooouuuuu caaaaallll itttttt' said the sloth. Generoso bridge had fallen down April 13, 2007. Since then it has been under construction for a year and a month now. With a budget of 300 million, it has been said to be finished for three more months. Being one of the major roads of the metro, it has been a pain in the *ss to all motorists to have to share one bridge (the newer one beside the old bridge) which is supposed to have two lanes (now it attends to four). Having always been a heavily traveled infrastructure (it is used as a primary road in and out of the city)it now takes more than an hour just to get through 161 meters. I definitely have doubts if they finish this bridge on time. After the collapse they have been bragging about finishing a new bridge in 6 months, which then led them to move it to 8 months wherein they announced that there was no contractor who can finish it at that time hence the prolonging to a year and four months. In their eyes it is 70 percent complete. But in mine it's barely 50. I just hope that, they are not sneaking up on our money whilst the metro waits in agony while their facade affects the economy deeply.
