Carles Puyol - Carles Puyol's full name is Carles Puyol Saforcada...... Puyol began his footballing career in yhe local team of small town where he was born, i.e., La Pobla de Segur....... At the age of seventeen, Puyol was signed up for Football Club of Barcelona's Academy at La Masia....... Puyol rapidly became a fixture in Barcelona B team....... He then progressed to make his debut with the first team on October 2nd, 1999 against Valladolid....... Thanks to his determination to improve and a tremendous work rate, Carles Puyol adapted to the position of Central defender....... In 2003-2004 season, he was chosen as the team's third captain....... In that season, Barcelona FC finished runners-up in the league...... However, Puyol had to wait until yhe 2004-2005 season for glory........ He was first chosen as the captain of the first team by Frank Rijkaard........ In that season, he saw his dream come true of lifting the league trophy in Nou Camp...... During the 2005-2006 season, Puyol led the team for a double which includes Spanish Primera Liga Championship and UEFA Champions League title.
