politics - For some time now every body has been talking about the'enlightened moderation',thanks to Mr.President Musharraf that he introduced a very nice term for his government officials and many others to portray the soft image of Pakistan. What the enlightened moderation really is? Is that the same thing which the king of Iran before the Islamic revolution introduced as'white revolution'.which meant no religion must rule Iran but the seculars(let me say).If we see what is happening in Pakistan we can really get a better image. The Islamic Revolution of Iran got its strength when the government tried to impose the imported foreign policy in the country.when the iranian govt, removed the column of religion from the passport the people took to the streets and rightly so because it was a clear attempt to make a solid and vast way for the non-muslims in large number in the govt.It may not be such bad but demolishing the rights of muslims who were and are no doubt in majority in Iran is serioslly condemnable. So what the Pakistan Government has done is that it also as removed the religion column from the passport saying that the new machine readable passports cant read that, rediculous!we are an Islamic state and we must have Islamic laws.Holy Quran has made one thing very clear that the jews and christians can never beyour friends and Quaran gives us a rule to be good with only non-mislims who are not a threat to your solidarity and integrity. Then why we break that law,why ?why are we just trying to be a good friend of our enemy? The enemy when he has his axe to grind will help you other wise it will leave you in the lurch like US did to Pakistan in Afghanistan's issue 1970's-80's.
