Times are hard in the US the economy sucks. It is real sad that it would be a big goal for me to acheive just meeting the poverty line. This is crazy. I would have to work 3 jobs just to be considered poor!!!

About a decade ago, I ran out of money and was literally down to the last piece of ham in the refrigerator. I wasn't even sure if the ham was still good, cause it had been in the freezer for a year. But, I cooked it and ate it...

i shouldn't think so. being poor makes you clever, it enables you to explore all other possibilities to make do with whatever is available; it releases your creativity and ingenuity, and makes you appreciate simple things....
