Do you open your car door so wide that you dent/hit the car beside you?!

I don't understand why people open their car doors so wide and hit the car beside them (and even ding/dent/scratch the car beside you). If you are hitting someone's car you aren't giving any dings to YOUR car but the car BESIDE...
