We had a change of plans. Hubby thought it was too breezy for him to enjoy the zoo today. We drove to the reservoir today. We hoped perhaps to see eagles but did not.
Instead, we saw gulls, crows, and pelicans, maybe some others....

The weather outside's not delightful
I consider it rather spiteful
The first snow of the year
Is coming in like a bear
By tomorrow, it'll be a mere trifle
Edit: the incoming snow reminded me of a Christmas song. It has nothing to...

This limerick is just an excuse to let you all know we fly out to Nepal this evening and I’ll be on and off over the next three weeks, having fun. I’m hopeful that I’ll be able to log in from time to time with a post and photos...

A while ago I joined a website for writers. I enjoy writing here so much that I’d stopped writing in a serious vein and I wanted somewhere that would stimulate or inspire me to write something other than what I do here. I belong...

There is nothing new about an early morning for me. However, my not getting to sleep until close to midnight, yeah, that's new. It hasn't happened in a long time. I've had some sleepless nights, and I didn't go to sleep when I...

I felt the urge to write a limerick just now. Here it is for your enjoyment.
There once was a girl from the city
She thought in her dress she looked pretty
But a guy came along
Told her she was wrong
She should trash this dress...

There must be hundreds and hundreds of saints around the place and some seem very obscure. In County Limerick in Ireland we came across St Munchin. When we lived in a suburb in Perth, Western Australia, our two boys went to a...

Once again New Year has arrived
And Auld Lang Syne is revived
There is no way to know
What next year will bestow
Of such knowledge we are deprived
At midnight a new year descends
As the present one finally ends
I have one thing...

Our son is a professional jazz musician and plays double bass. While we were staying in Ireland we were able to attend a performance that he was involved in which took place in the John Field room of the Dublin Concert Hall. In...

A limerick is a five line poem. Lines 1 and 2 rhyme, lines 3 and 4 rhyme and line 5 rhymes with lines 1 and 2. Anyone who spent time at the old Bubbs site probably participated in their poetry challenges....they were fun....

There once was a ghost named Fred
Who was lying under my bed.
He screamed from below.
He tickled my toe
And caused me to fall from my bed.
Now Fred was a mischievous ghost
Who put whipped cream on my toast.
He made silly...

The snowflakes that fell in my hair
Left me in great despair.
My head was so wet
That I was upset
A bird started a nest up there.

There once was a skunk named Trump.
To many, he really stunk.
Walked into a room
And let go his perfume
Which made everyone want to jump.

But I have sat here for a while now and have not managed to do one yet.
Why can't I write a Limerick.
Oh wait
A duck flew right into a propeller
It mangled his head and his feathers
No maybe not.
There was a young Saddam from...

I enjoyed all the Shrek movies. One of my favorite characters was Donkey. Here is a simple Donkey limerick.
Donkey was a sidekick of Shrek.
Who was simple and hardly high tech.
Donkey was constantly a nag
Which wasn't Shrek's...
