M.A.C vs. Cheaper Alternatives??

I love M.A.C products, and would recomend anyone use them, but the fact of the matter is that M.A.C, while it holds a glorious spot in my heart gets pretty expensive. I want to know, what cheaper alternatives do you use that work....

plz give in some simple to follow makeup tips here, which can really make a difference in one's appearance... and also tell how to increase the life of makeup in summers when it is very hot and we sweat a lot..
