Do you think it is ok to give a baby a pacifier? We give our son one . He really likes pacifiers, though he doesn't have to have one all the time. It helps calm him down if he is upset or really tired.

I'm amazed at how many names there are for this thing. My daughter calls her pacifier a "chompie". My father-in-law calls it a plug. I've heard binkie, passy etc... Seems like everyone has a different name for the thing....
