Every year about this time my daughter proclaims: "You should see the Robin's out front!" And soon I see them on the other side of the house. It's as if someone sprinkled out birdseed. There was even a couple of doves. I bet her...

You know, I don’t remember them signing a rental agreement or anything, but it seems I have new tenants living here.
As you can see by the photo, some robins built a nest right over my motion lights mounted on my garage....

Have been checking on the Robin babies in my holly bush for 12 day now.
Friday was the last day I was able to get a photo. A very protective Mom did her job.
Today I went out for a quick peek and all three were gone. Flew the...

My daughter left around 8:30 this morning. I decided to catch up on some mowing after she left.
Birds usually like when I mow, especially robins. I had a lot of them in my yard looking for bugs I had disturbed when mowing.
It...

As you can see from the picture above I'm closing in on 10K steps today. I timed myself on this walk around and it took half an hour to do 3000+ steps. I wore my hoodie and Navy cap. When I walked out the door I thought I was...

Usually I begin noticing Robins in February around here in Kansas. I did not get out and about much, so that may be why I had not seen them.
I did notice them walking up and down the side of the road across the street, yesterday....

As much as I love winter, I need to give way to spring. Especially since I saw with my own eyes, the embodiment of spring flying around the parking lot this morning as I waited for my ride. The robin is back. I also saw a...

This is one of the things I love about my new home state of North Carolina. Sometimes we have a dramatic thunderstorm, but the temperature is 75°.
When it first started raining there were many robins, maybe 20, bathing in a...

There is a crab tree in our neighbor yard and they loved it.

Yesterday I saw a robin on our deck railing... The bird was HUGE which made me wonder if he simply hadn't left for the winter but had found some feeders that he frequented... a lot!! I have to get used to winters back in Ontario,...

It has been overcast here all day. And the yard and trees have been full of blackbirds and robins. My Dad used to say who you see robins, it is going to rain.
According to the Farmer's Almanac....
Up to the early 19th-century...

A new couple moved in not too long ago. I call them Robin and Robyn Bird. Quite the cute couple, too.
For years a bird has tried in vain to put a nest on top of my porch light. Because of the rainy month, this one finally...

I must admit, my walk wasn't overly enjoyable today. The temps are near 90 and it's humid to the point the sweat just drips off of you rather than evaporating.
On top of it, there really wasn't much to see. Most of the critters...

I saw this little bird taking a break in the grass. I think it must have just left the nest because the mother robin was shouting at me from a tree.

I had an opportunity to get a photo of this robin's nest and eggs earlier today. Before anyone asks, I took great care not to disturb the nest. I kept a reasonable distance from it and even checked on the nest a little while later...

I captured this photo outside my office today. There seems to be more of them (just the males though, I haven't seen any females yet) so maybe spring is almost here after all.

Not only is the robin Wisconsin's state bird, most consider it a sign of spring being here. I'm not convinced of that, however, because I've seen plenty hopping around when there is still snow falling.
