Relationship going down the drain.

In front of others as an advice, 'Don't ever get married!' or tells her 'I think we are better of living separately!'and after awhile they both cry and make-up and do and say the same baloney again! DOH! Isn't that enough clue that their relationship is going down the drain? I really want to tell her to bang her head on the walls to wake her up and make some sense of it all, but of course, she's still dilly-dallying, really, I don't want to give her advice and would rather listen and let her decide for herself because she and her hubby are good friends of ours!

separated but still married?

Is anybody here separated for a long time but not divorced? Or know anybody in that situation? And why would somebody choose to live that way instead of actually divorcing?
