In addition to zoos of forests, in Bhubhaneswar in Orissa, there is an animal Safari. The animals like lions, tigers are allowed to stay in nature's habitat in those places. Travellers can be taken in closed vehicles to see them.

we genuinely enjoyed the experience.
admittedly, there are better zoos around (avalon zoo, malabon zoo, zoofari in subic to name a few) but nothing beats the old-school charm of manila zoo. i must admit that when i was younger...

I am not much in favour of captive animals in a zoo. Especially big animals that are taken out of their natural habitat. However the sea lions in the Melbourne zoo have found a haven there after being rescued and given treatment....
