Buying groceries is not that easy.

Friends, I´m exausted. And I haven´t put away all the groceries I bought. And I have only eaten snacks instead of lunch. Buying groceries was extremelly difficult today. First of all I had to decide if it was worth it to be a prime costumer. And when I discovered that it was a good idea, the page would not let me complete my registration. After ages I discovered that they did not like my line phone. They wanted my cellphone number. So I changed it. And then I started to buy. I had a list and was going to stick to it as it was my second purchase of the month. But that was not to be. Prime members always have some offers. So now I have toilet paper (on sale) until I die. And I bought several delicious cans of seafood that I could have gone without. Quite inexpensive too, but it is cheaper not to buy any. Then I remembered that I wanted fresh mussels a month ago and they did not have it (probably because it was the Holy Week). Mussels in my country are very cheap if you buy the normal mussels that they take from the ocean. They are very fresh but full of weeds. You have to clean the shell before you boil them. Then there are the one that are "raised in mussel farms". Very clean and maybe full of antibiotics. AND a lot more expensive. These were the weedy wild mussels. Delicious but you have to work for it. And that I did. I was going to eat some with mayo right out of the pot but I´m too tired. I ate a salami sandwich, a piece of Camembert cheese and came to bed. While the mussels were boiling I cut up a giant breast of a chicken I bought. I want it for broths so I cut it in 7 pieces. I had never seen such a big breast. It looked like a turkey´s breast. The only thing left for me to do is to cut up and put away a trout I bought. I´ll cut it in pieces to eat when I´m alone. I don´t have money until August to invite anyone to such exquisite dish. Now I´ll take a nap and later on cut up the trout and take the mussels out of their shells. I´ll also save the water. I might make a mussel risotto sometime. Good night.

Sounds like you got a lot. When things are on a good sale it can be worth it to spend a little more

In my country shrimp is a lot more expensive than fresh mussels. I live 2 hours away from where they get it. I ate fresh shrimp a lot once I went for a holiday to the south of Brazil.

Sometimes things happen for a reason. I do know that if I lived alone I could sure live a lot cheaper. Interesting about mussels. I don't think I've ever had any.

I love them and they are cheap here. We used to have a lot of cheap seafood as we have the Pacific ocean from the north to the south. But many of them were fished to almost extintion and now they are very expensive. It seems that only mussels have survived at a decent price.

In France I always bought the weedy wild mussels. I know it's a lot of work to clean them, but the taste is so much better.

I once had a turkey. I think turkeys are quite fierce chickens, because they like to chase my neighbors and school children who pass in front of my house.

@marguicha Anyway, every person who passes in front of the house, my turkey chases and bites them. I don't know why that is.
