What do you think about your local playground? Would you take your child to it? I've had a chance to go to several local playgrounds lately, and have found that they are not good for my child or that other local children kind of try to rule these playgrounds. Once a certain number of bigger children get on the playground its like the little ones can't come on, or they'll get hurt by the big ones. Do you think that mothers are doing right by allowing they're cihldren to act in this manner? Do you think that playgrounds should have perhaps a supervisor or someone to protect and at least watch over the playground while there is children on iet? What do you think? Are local playgrounds becoming dangerous for our children? Or is it just a over protective mother nature kicking in?

The playground in my neighborhood is actually in the backyard of the senior center. There are always a few "grandparents" out watching the kids during daylight hours. I still wouldn't send young children out there alone without supervision. Big kids really aren't a problem at that park because a block away from it is a bigger park w/ baseball, soccer, basketball, tennis available for the bigger kids. I wouldn't stand for the bigger children bullying the younger children, at all. I would actually walk those kids right back to their doors and have them apologize in front of their parents for being a bully. Some neighborhoods, other parents would get indignant about you trying to "discipline" their kids. But, it's still ok where I live. The other parents actually applaud each other's efforts for watching out for each other's kids. Anyway, it may be that you're being over-protective. But, in all likelihood, your maternal instincts are just. It all really depends on your neighborhood.
