Days For Spellcasting??

I'm just curious what your thoughts are about this...I've read in so many books that this day is good for that kind of spell or that day is best for this kind of spell--or that you should do certain spells during particular phases of the moon, and so forth--for instance..that Sundays (and Wednesdays) are good for success and/or creativity spells...but do they HAVE to be done only on these days..what if there is say a bit of an emergency--now I realize of course that say you shouldn't do a prosperity spell during the new moon to full moon phase since that is the period of time for spellcasting to banish negative conditions..but then I had a discussion once about this and she said "Well..you're trying to banish lack of money, no? Then I remember reading in one of Scott Cunningham's books to do a spell no matter what day it is, even if it isn't the DAY it's supposed to be done. Any thoughts here?

I don't really hold much by days.
I mean, it's only human beings that have made that unit of seven days into something important. it's just about names, really. love on Friday, Freyas day, etc.
I do what I do, when I want or need to.
the man made unit of seven days doesn't matter to me.

What's your opinion about moon phases then...I pretty much do spells on whatever day I need to instead of waiting for the "perfect" day...but I'm a little stricter with which moon phase to do spells on

it's a good idea to work with them, but not vital.
it's like tides. a strong swimmer can swim against a tide, but it's always easier to go with it.
I mean, we are definitly affected by the moon. you look into the sky and you know the moonphase, often you know in your gut where in the cycle it is, even when you can't see it. it's just not like that for week days.
I'll try to work with a moontide where possible, perhaps change the focus of how I'm working if the tide is wrong just to make it easier. but ultimately, if I need to do something, I'll just do it regardless. a Witch does what a Witch needs to do.
and a lot of things you can do, it doesn't make a great deal of difference.

I think correspondences are far too over-rated really....300-400 yrs ago and so on they didnt have the need to match this moon phase with this colour and that day at this time...it wouldnt have been realistic and more than that I doubt back then it would even be possible....
If you are one for all the bells and whistles to increase your confidence then have at it but IMO I dont think it increases or decreases the power etc....

Personally I think if you need to do a spell and want to do a spell, then if your'e ready to perform it right now and it's supposed to be done on a monday and you have to wait another week, then I think you should do it. For one, by doing the act, you're helping to change the circumstances already.
