Could you cite your source?

I'm just wondering how many of you could actually back-up your claims? Do you post or respond to discussions with opinions based on fact, or soley based on what you have been taught and the emotions certain topics provoke?

I've only answered questions (so far) based on personal opinions or personal life experiences. If it was something like an educational question (eg-define chemistry), then I would definatly provide a source to backup what I say.

That's a fair enough answer. Upon re-reading my question, though, I realize that I may have been a little vague. I should have included something to the effect of approaching questions or new and unusual ideas with an open mind. I try not to judge others, even in the most complicated, bizarre or down-right creepy (to me at least!) situations. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that you repond to posts without thought or considering all aspects and such of the topic, for we all frame experiences and events based on "what we know". I just wonder how many people try to reach beyond what "we know", to see if what we think is true, is actually so. I try not to make decisions about anything without seeing everything between the "black and white".

If it's a factual-type question, yes, I only post info for which I can cite sources (I studied journalism, so always tend to back things up). If it's an opinion question, it's not relevant... though if I say I have a red toothbrush, I guess I really could take a photo and post it here as proof. ;-)

I try to answer a discussion as truthful as I can. Sometimes it is facts, and sometimes it is emotion. Depends on the question. Some questions are so stupid, they deserve a stupid answer.
