And you think things are bad on this planet

You can look out into space, and with a telescope see galaxies colliding. Imagine what might happen if this galaxy were to run into another galaxy. Entire planets, solar systems and civilizations would be destroyed. So if you think things are terrible on this planet, you haven't seen nothing yet. In the history of the universe, there could be thousands of planets and trillion of beings destroyed as it expands. So, perhaps dying isn't such a big deal after all. It just might be as natural as everything else that occurs in the universe. There is simply nothing about living to fear.

Hello Sigma77,
Well, that would definitely put a damper on the weekend, eh?
Ya' know, this is a great post. So many people get caught up in their own little micro-worlds, that it's easy to lose perspective.
We're all just little specks. I may believe that there is a plan to direct us little specks. But, whether there actually is a plan or not, it's helpful to remember that there's a whole, great big universe out there. With lots of other specks doing their own speck-thing. I tend to believe in the postulate that "Energy can be neither created nor destroyed", so this process of ebbing & flowing is all just that, a process. And, I'm good with it. Not that it would matter if I weren't!
Anyway, thanks for the reminder.

That maybe be true.
But for me to lose someone who's played an important role or even shared it with me, their loss is still a massive thing. For me the plant could blow up tomorrow, my family and friends mean more and I'm happy to be apart of their lives too. =)

P.s The whole idea of space freaks me out more than global warming. :P
