ok, there's this girl in my class. we sit next to each other, but didn't start talking until about a week ago. interestingly enough, that day i was determined to break the ice, and before i was able to, she is the one that started talking to me. anyway, like i said we've been talking for about a week now, nothing specific, just general topics. My question is, how do i know if this girl is interested in me or if she's just being nice?

Start talking about fun things to do or a cool movie that may be out that she may be interested in then ask her to go.

Ask her out to eat or to study..see what happens.

That is a good question. Perhaps you could ask her out for a drink/coffee etc. If she turns you down then she is probably not interested in you. You also want to find out if she is seeing someone?

Make up some excuse to ask her out-but pretend that she'd be doing you a favour if she said yes. If she jumps at the chance, or turns you down but suggests something else (like "I can't because...but what about..."), I'd say she's interested. However, my answer is probably about as reliable as a Magic Eight Ball's.
