A discussion in another thread led me to do a quick bit of research into the production of methane from landfill dumps and I came across this interesting site: http://www.epa.gov/lmop/

thats an interesting site. in india, many farmers are using bio-gas to run their pumpsets and cook good. bio-gas produced from the animal manure and waste foods.

Now that you mention it, I do remember reading somewhere about that. There are some farmers here in the UK also who are using gas from animal waste to provide themselves with heating and electricity.
