What is phobia? There are 3 categories of phobias: 1. Simple or specific phobia is a persisitend and irrational fear of any object or situation. 2. Social phobia experiences great anxiety in situation where he thinks he is being observed or could be criticised. 3. Agoraphobia originally meant the fear of an assembly or market place, but now refers to fear of leaving the house, or going into crowded places like shopping centres orbusy streets. Sufferer usually feas that she might collapse or die from an impending heart attack. A phobia is an irrational fear which is excessive, absurd and out of proportion to the objective risk of the object or situation. It cannot be explained away even thought the victim know that it is illogical. I have seen a person who have phobia to a cat. She will just start to shiver when a cat is coming toward her and scream when the cat is really by her side. I also know someone who start to have breathing difficulty when confined to a dark and small room. My elder has a blood-injury phobia. He cannot stand the sight of blood. At one time, he cut himself. At first he was sitting and holding his hand to stop the bleeding. Suddenly, he started to looke really pale and within second he fainted. But we managed to revive him. I think I suffer from Agorphobia. I am afraid that when I was having shower, I would just fall down and die. But now I no longer have the phobia. I dont know how I manage to overcome it but thank God I am no longer a sufferer. Would you know if you or anyone you know have phobia? How do you deal with it? Do you know which categories you fall into?

ghee, that is one weird question? How can you have a phobia for God? God is love. Unless you are really have committed a sinful act. Well, let just put your mind at ease. Phobia is a psychological condition which can usually be treated. If you have phobia for God, does it mean you need some psychological treatment?

God fearing person does not make a person a phobic. Phobia differ from fear. Phobia is an irrational fear whereas fear is only a normal fear which do not requires treatment.

I dont think i am currently suffering from any phobia right now. But most of us humans, at some point or the other in life, go through the social phobia. We are all afraid of being criticized and dont handle it well.

I am phobic about roaches. I have no idea what that is called, but I do have an abnormal fear of being infested by roaches. I will do everything in my power to keep them out of my house and if there is one in my house, I flip out and start cleaning and spraying and puttin boric acid down, the whole nine yards. I really don't know why I am so phobic about it, but I am and have always been. I am just so scared one is going to crawl into my ear while I am asleep. Ok, I have to go scrub something now. hehehehe!
