Most times it helps to say something positive about them. Takes a little training but this is one part of starting thinking positive thoughts, to influence others to do the same. What is your method of calming down yourself and others??

For me, if the person is angry, let him express how he feels, if he needs to cry, shout, let him do so. He needs an outlet. If everything has already been out. He now needs to be comforted, give him a hug. Hold his hands.Pat on the back might help.

Well, if everybody who is angry would be treated like that, we would not have many angry people in the world!!:) Thank you for your response. I just went back to older discussions and saw it and wanted to give you an answer.

I have found if you agree with the person and then talk calmly to them giving them a reason why they should calm down or to tell them they are right but this could be the reason why . Giving them some reason to know that they have a reason to be upset . Often when people are upset they need to know that someone undersands where they are coming from and need to be able to rant a bit to get it out of their system and when one takes the time to listen to what they are trying to say it helps them to calm down .
