Ok, I'm very upset as my sister is cuz her mobile got stolen while she was in her university and waiting for the bus to home. It goes like this....... While she was waiting fot he bus to come i.e. the one to home. She and around ten friends and some junior university students were around. It was a scam and the mobile got taken out and my sister came to know about it when it was only 10 minutes for the bus to come. She could do, absolutely, nothing about it. Everybody in the house is aware about it. It's not that the mobile set was quite awesome or fascinating, it was a V3i Razor. Could you do things to prevent this i.e. prevent things from being stolen? It was a scam like two or three people involved in it cuz one person alone couldn't have done it.

I think that the reason for doing this will be that they would have needed money very urgently or they would have needed some contact numbers from your sisters mobile. It seems if you report to the motorola company about the theft and give them the something called IMEI number of the phone then that phone will be traced or blocked. Anyway, your sister should be careful about the things she has with her when she goes out!

Usually those sort of things are best being kept on your person. That way if someone tries to grab it you can feel it being taken. Even as inconvinant as it is, keep it in your hand when there is a group of people around you. You'll definately be able to feel if something is being taken out of your hand. I'm sorry to hear that your sister's mobile was taken, hopefully there won't be a next time. Make sure it gets deactivated and the company is notified that the phone was stolen, so you aren't getting hit with the charges.
