I was doing some mending at home and had my sewing kit out. Thread, needles and fabric swatches were scattered everywhere. My niece's daughter was staying with me and thought it was just marvellous and started getting into it all. 'Don't touch that stuff' I scolded. She looked at me sweetly 'I'm not touching it Aunty, I'm just looking with my fingers.
How cute was that!!

Don't you just love kids? They come out with the quickest and wittiest replies ever! She sure is a cute one! I would love to know where she got that saying from.
Kids just love rummaging through things like that, which they don't normally get to do. I'll bet she was having a whale of a time, and how could you scold her? I'd be chuckling too much!

That's very cute! How old is she. I wonder if her parents taught her that or if she got it from another kid. It is so sweet how innocent kids can be.

I would tell my children, your eyes do not have fingers. My son would show me that if you look just right, your knuckles look like eyes.LoL. So my kids liked to look with their fingers.

"I'm just looking with my fingers". That's a new one for me! Very cute. What could you say to that? Not much, huh? Bet it brought a smile to your face! Kid's comments can be so "off the cuff" and natural - wouldn't it be good if adults could see things the same way as they do?
