does the tiny red battery light flash all the time? I have never used battery power. My coputer had been on A/C ever since I got it. I have googled this question and cannot find an answer. I have a Compaq, Presario V2000. Any help would be appreciated:-(

I have a toshiba laptop, when the cord in unpluged the battery light goes out. I believe the light is one for it is charging the battery. You never use the battery but it always charging it is plugged into the wall. If you go to this website and look at page 12 and 13 it will explain it all to you aswell in your manual. h20000.www2.hp.com/bc/docs/support/SupportManual/c00444244/c00444244.pdf

Have you checked the manual? That should be the first place you look. :P Are you sure that light represents the battery? See the manual for what it means.

Sorry I wasn't able to be more helpful. But I see that the problem has been solved by someone above me. I guess the higher powers are always better than this pathetic mortal who is me.

I think it flashes red cause the battery is not charged. If the battery was charged it would be green. I am not sure but my daughter's portable dvd player works that way so matbe your computer is the same.

It is not normal. Normally if the red battery light flash is due to low battery or the device is not working. I suggest you take out your battery and plug in the A/C power to swtich on computer. If the red light never flash anymore, it means your battery having some problem. If not, better cahnge your A/C power adapter.
