1st: Mylot pays quality over quantity so there is no reason to post if you have nothing to add
2nd: If you want your discussions in circulation post in your discussions!
If you follow these rules you will maximize earnings but there I have more advice. Lets say you make a post today and all day it gets 4 replies. If you rush to comment on all 4 replies and you make 4 comments in 10 minutes you may get responses from the people that read your topic. But if you respond to quickly and noone sees your topic the 4 'bumps' you gave your topic by posting in it have been wasted across too short of time. But if you only respond to half over your comments each day your stories will remain in circulation longer as you will add meaningful points at a measured rate. 4 'bumps' across 4 hours will circulate your discussion across more people then ten minutes, and 4 'bumps' across 4 days could have a larger effect. If you are too quick to respond your discussion may fall into the old discussion list and since you have replied to everyone there is no reason for you to give it a 'bump' so without spamming you can't get people to read your discussions again. I will start to follow my advice and tell you how it goes..

Ah, this is sound advice and something I'd not thought about. I don't get on here more than a little bit every day so I do everything at once. Perhaps I should try breaking it up so that I've always got something going on. I could jump on for 10 minutes and reply to folks, then come back just for the five minutes it takes to type and post new discussions, then check back later for more replies.
I'll be interested to see your post on results - are you keeping stats? I'm just getting started so posting advice is very welcome. Thanks for the food for thought!

yeah i'm trying to develop some stats on gmail. Since mylot sends you emails when you get replies i am counting and organizing those.. and i started noticing my conversations falling back in time and getting lost.. so now i leave room in my discussions so i can boost them out of the mylot abyss.
One stats i have is that 10% of my discussions that get replies have more than 5 replies. I want to improve this stat.. and i think this method can help because some discussions fall out of circulation before i think they are "done" and when you leave room to add insightful comments you can bring them out of the warehouse so to speak..

Things come and go so fast around here that you make a very good point. Waiting a few hours or days to respond to a discussion may well bring it to the attention of folks who didn't happen to be on-line or in the right interest during your discussion's 15 minutes of fame. The more you can (legitimately) return it to the top of the list, the more likely you are to generate responses.
