My husband and I were discussing what we heard today and so we came up this discussion.
I am not here to talk about Bill, but I am here to talk about a bigger liar, Hillary. Yes Hillary is back at it again, and yes it is bac enough that she told a bunch of Australians that she was named after SIr Edmund Hillary even though she was born before he climbed Mt. Everest. Now she's at it again. She tells a story of suburbs of Chicago. This is what she said, "I grew up in a house surrounded by farms and every year migrate workers would cross over the border into Texas follow the harvest into Illinois and up to Michigan. I would go to school with their children and on the weekends me and my church group would babysit their little ones so the older ones could go work in the fields with their parents."
Now if I may be allowed to show how big of a lie this is.
First, Hillary grew up in Park Ridge, Illinois. This city borders the north side of Chicago. 50 years ago Chicago and the surrounding areas didn't have anymore farms that they do today which as far as I know are none.
Secondly, all farm harvest cycles move north to south. Making it impossible for the workers to follow the harvest from Texas to Michigan.
THirdly, The cash crops that are grown in Illinois are wheat, corn, and hay. ALl of these are harvested using machines. The only farm hands employed by the farm would be skilled laborers.
So my final question is Do we need another lying Clinton as President?

Thanks for your insights on this. I've never trusted either Clinton and as far as I'm concerned, Hillary has already had her 8 years in the White House. Her title may have been First Lady but I think she was actually the one pulling Bill's puppet strings.

Hi gewcew. I rarely follow elections as I know they all lie. It makes me laugh and lose trust in all of them. I would think that in order for someone to succeed in politics they have to be good liars. So I wonder if there is anyone out there who would be a good president as they are all the same for me.
Well obviously she is lying to get more people to like her and vote for her. And they all do that. Even if there was someone with good faith, once they are presidents they are just under the mercy of the big multinationals and big companies who are those who really govern the country.
If I am wrong gewcew please correct me as I see that you are very knowledgeable in political issues. Take care!

There is nothing wrong with a healthy distrust for the government, but I don't think that we should go as far to say that all politicians lie. I don't think we should go as far to say that all politicians have sold their souls just because some have. Government is like a dragon some are like knights who try to slay the dragon. Some are like wizards that try to control the dragon and use it for their own power. The problem is when the knights go up to Washington, and instead of killing the dragon they were sent to do, they become corrupted and turn into wizards themselves. A good case of this would be former congressman Tom DeLay, he was an awesome reformer at first, but he stayed up at Washington too long, and become corrupted. He started to learn the powers that government can wield for his own personal good. This becomes very dangerous, because politicians like this are genereally precieved to be reformers and very popular. A lot of these politicians aren't even opposed in elections, but eventually their lies come to the surface and by then it is too late. Keep reading about politics and keep having a healthy skepitism about your politicians, and I will talk to you later.

Thank you for this information gewcew. I always considered all politicians in all countries as liars. I guess I need to have more faith heh? To do that I need to read! I will just start with your discussions as I am sure you have so much to say.
By the way I think it was you who started that discussion about electric cars heh? Well I sent the discussion to my husband and my mother in-law who wanted to get electric cars, guess what? They changed their minds! We always need to get the right information before deciding on anything. Okay thanks and take care!

I am definitely not surprised. Before the last election, I read a book on the Clintons, and Hillary was portrayed as much worse than her husband. They are both so practiced at lying to the public it is scary. And she changes her story depending on who she is talking to. It would be really scary to see her elected. Just because someone wants to see a woman as president is not a good reason to vote for Hillary.

If what you say is true (and I am not a farmer and don't know beans about it), but, won't that make her a stupid liar?

Thats funny, surprised she didnt tell em she was out working the fields. but on the other hand we didnt need another lying Bush in office either but we got one. Like I said before something is really wrong with our political system when the biggest sell outs is the only people who have a chance to be president.

I'm not going to try to defend a Clinton. I don't like either one of them. But there are acres and acres of farm land here. Back in her day, who knows what they were harvesting by hand. We have a lot of apple orchards. Also, Collinville, Illinois is the horseradish capitol of the world. Let me tell you, those plants are nasty and have to be harvested by hand. There are quite a few Mexicans laborers here in this area who do that work.
Anyway, I agree that she and her husband are big liars, but I'm going to give her some leeway on this one. I'll still never vote for her though.

This has sparked my interest...I'm going to ask my dad who is 75 and grew up here in Springfield, and my grandpa who is 93 years old just what was going on in the farming world around that time. I'm sure they will know. I have heard stories all my life and not one mentioned Mexican laborers, but I am going to ask. I do know here in central Illinois, corn, beans, and hay was they crops my famiy always grew.

Actually, the farm land is down 44% then what it was in the 1950's in Illinois. Farms were not farmed by skilled labor but mostly itinerants and migrant workers. Different crops are harvested at different times so the southern migrants came north to Oregon to pick our crops. Our nuts and many other crops were harvested by hand and after the harvesting in the south was over. I know this because we had a farm which is now housing. So sad.
