I have a little yorkie named Pooder and she is so cute and I love her. She is about 3 years old and lately she has been kinda snippy. When the girls go to pet her she snips at them and it drives me nut. Does anyone else have this problem and how do you deal.

Correct the behavior as you see it happening. If the dog goes to nip, say "no", make a noise, squirt the dog with a spray bottle. . the important thing is that you have to correct the behavior before or while its happening, not 3 seconds later or any other length of time after the fact.
Next, you have to set more boundaries. If your dog is only nipping other members of the family, then you have a dominance issue. The dog sees you as its leader, itself as your protector and everyone else as unwelcome. Let the dog know that it is low on the totem pole! Family eats first, dogs are no longer allowed on furniture, no lap sitting, and any treats have to be earned. Some people call this the Nothing In Life Is Free (or NILIF training).
Small dogs tend to get away with murder simply because they are small and cute. Any nipping at humans is aggression and it should never ever be tolerated. Have the children assume more active roles in the dog's life, such as walking, feeding, obedience training. At first the dog is going to put up a fight, but with persistence and patience she will soon learn her place in your pack.
