For my office work, I use MS Excel. Yesterday one of my Excel file named "account' refused to open with a message that displayed "account.xls:file format is not valid". I have office 2003 installed on my computer. What would be the cause? What do you think is the problem? Will I have to reinstall office 2003?

I use MS Excel but I never had that problem. I had these kind of problems of files that would not open. I'm not an expert in MS Excel but I would think that the file will not work again. If you can open other files with Excel and it only doesn't open this one then I would think the problem is not with Excel but with the file. Maybe it got infected?
So I think that if you can open other files with Excel then you don't need to reinstall the software because it is the file that has a problem not the software. Good luck.
