when you get Cellulitis? I am sure if you have been reading some of my discussions that I have started lately, I was using a Cream for a Paid Diabetic Study on my feet that was supposed to help with Neuropathy, and I ended up being Allergic to the Cream, and ended up getting a semi-bad form of Cellulitis on my legs again. Most of it is on my right leg, which is my bad leg due to previosly having Chronic ulcers on my leg that have been Healed for over 2 yrs. The place I was doing the Study with took me off of the Cream, and put me on Ceffalexen which is Generic for Keflex. Here it is 6 days later, and my leg is still not looking as good as it should. I am a little upset, and wondering if this does not get better soon, what Step should I take next? Because if I have to go see my regular Doctor for more help, won't it look weird that this all happened from an investigation cream study? Anyone got some suggestions and tips for me?

I definitely would be going to see my regular doctor whether it looked weird or not. The health of your legs as well as your general health is at stake here. I wouldn't care how it looked to anyone, I would go before quick to see what could be done to help the condition. I am sure that the study people don't want to make any huge stir, as it might hurt their cause. They are looking out for themselves and you have to look out for yourself, as well.

This is some Great insite and thoughts here, and could end up helping the Study site in the process. I will examine my leg tonight, and see how it looks, and if I have too, call my Dr. tomorrow, and try to get in there. I know one thing under no circumstances am I going to try New medications unproven on my legs or feet again. And especially not to where you have to use a lot of it or it can not be proven if it is working for you.

Krause, if you are not improving on Keflex, go back to whoever prescribed it, and have them recheck it. Be firm. From what I read, if that is not effective sometimes you have to be hospitalized for IV antibiotics. The fact that some other doctor has prescribed treatment might make your own doctor take a hands off approach. Get better soon!!

I'm not diabetic, so don't know how much longer it takes to heal when you are diabetic. I've had cellulitis twice that I can remember going to the doctor with it. The first time it was really bad and I got a mega-shot of antibiotic and then some pills to take also. The 2nd time, I recognized the beginnings of it and caught it early and got on anti-biotics quickly and it went away. Most antibiotics are for 10 days, so perhaps another couple of days. You should be seeing some improvement, though.

Hi, No this keflex does not always work I would be seeing the doctor and getting some other antibiotic to clear this up as for myself I do not like taking keflex at all it has hardly ever helped me at all. Well what happened to me you know as I have been sick well I had been going to my regular doctor and well I got very sick from the tablets that he gave me and I went back to the medical centre and seen a different doctor and it looks like I maybe in the all clear run home now to recovery, and I am also a diaabetic.

I think elevating your legs when your resting in bed,or while you're sitting would help.In this way the blood flow to the heart would circulate well.
