My youngest granddaughter went to a Car Boot Fair last Sunday, where my Son and Daughter-in-Law had bought a space to sell. She had money burning a hole in her purse, and loves to walk around the sales and rummage about. Well, she nagged her Mum to go with her and see what they could find which would release the said money, which she'd saved up. lol. She was ambling around, taking a look at everything that interested her, when she came upon a pogo stick. It was in quite good condition, so she bought it. Naturally, she couldn't wait to get on it, but Mum told her to wait till they got back to their selling area. Then, as soon as they arrived back, she was on the pogo stick, hopping about all over the place. She was apparently hopping for 48 minutes... she made her Dad time her. ha ha ha Well, they got home around 1 p.m. and I went up later. She couldn't wait to show me her pogo stick, so she hopped around the garden for a while, then came over to me and said, "You have a go, Nanna!" You should have heard the excuses! lol. I used to love pogo sticks when I was younger and fitter but now? I don't think so, young lady! ha ha ha My final excuse after five minutes of backing off was that I wouldn't want to break it so soon after she'd got it... break my neck, more like. rofl. I got out of it in the end, but secretly... and don't tell her this... I would have LOVED to have a bounce around! I just didn't wanna make a fool of myself! lol

oh honey - you disappoint me - I was so sure that you would have been up bouncing around on the pogo stick before she even asked you! lol used to love pogo sticks but now alas it is yet another thing that I can no longer do! My son had one but I have kept it hidden from Niamh for the time being as I cannot bear another trip to the casualty department at the moment! I though part of being a grandparent was the fun of being able to look foolish in front of the grandkids sometimes? lol xxx

Yeah, but like you, I'm not too fit right now. Not my back, but my left knee is a bind. I think it stemmed from my RSI and sometimes, in certain situations, it just won't hold out. I would have liked to have a bounce, but I'm afraid it's asking for trouble. It probably would have buried in the ground with my weight on it, anyway. lol. Thank you for your response, my friend, and Brightest Blessings.

I had a go on a pogo stick when they first came out all those years ago. I only had the one shot on it and lost my balance and scraped all my side against a stone wall and vowed never to get on one again!

Boyyyyyyyyyyyyy... am I glad to see you! Ok... back to business. I think that's most of the art of it.. getting on and getting it started. Once you have the rhythm going, it's fine, but if your timing's out, it's a bit dangerous. You missed a lot of fun, but then, I don't blame you. Thank you for your response, my dear friend. I'm so relieved to see you here. Take care, huh? x

Hi Honey, Oh yes our grandchildren can be so funny at times especially when they have money to burn. Oh yes I bet that she could not wait to get on her pogo stick. Oh I bet that you made up all the excuses in the world you could come up with lol!! I remember when I had my first pogo stick and used to have a lot of fun but I surely would not go on one these days I probably would fall off hahaha!! Don't worry as am sure that I would of looked a fool on a pogo stick as well these days. xx

It's not the falling off I'm worried about, it's the getting on, in the first place! ha ha ha. That can cause some nasty accidents if you don't get it just right. :-( Thank you for your response, Kathy, and brightest blessings. x
